I got the lower left side of my lip done. I just got it done on the 28th of November. I currently have a flat back post/stud or whatever. It keeps hitting my teeth some and the top of my gums. I would like to avoid damage to my teeth and gums as much as possible.
My question is should I wait till my lip is fully healed before
I ask my piercer to change my piercing to something that will
not hit my teeth as much.
I've been told I should have gotten a beaded lip ring
instead of the flat-black piercing.
If anyone would care to share some advice that would be greatly appreciated.
It's best if you can wait until it heals. However, if it's really bothering you (or damaging teeth) you could probably get it changed. (I've changed jewelry before something has completely healed)
I noticed something the other day I'd never seen before (I don't shop for jewelry much.. so it may not be that new). They have labret studs that instead of having a "disc" inside the lip have a little dome. It looks like would be more comfortable. However, I only saw that in acrylic studs, not metal. You could mix an acrylic stud with a metal ball though.
